First Candle Light Picnic

Just as we were thinking of heading to Le Mars for supper. David got a support call. So I called in Pizza Hut incase it would be a long call. It wasn’t (Thank you Lord!!!) and we had a nice picnic and continued playing with our new camera! :)

Beautiful Corn Bail

Last year I learned about the beauty of living next to a soybean field. This year I learned the beauties of living next to a corn field.

Rubber Duckies

To show my sisters :)

Colour Accent

One of the features on our camera allows us to pick a colour and it will make everything black and white execpt that colour. I really like this picture because of how much browns/oranges it picks up.

Multi image filter

David’s parents gave me a set of filters that belonged to an old polaroid camear to use with my new camera. This is a photo of one candle. (Which I got from David’s aunt and uncle for my birthday! :))

Berries

Now I know why decorating with berries at Christmas is such a big thing, the real thing is BEAUTIFUL! I happened to have my camera with me on a walk the other morning, and these berries looked beautiful to me. So I thought I’d play with the camera a bit more.

Wonderful Chickadee!

My fun Norwegian girl!

I have so much dutch decorations, and no Norwegian stuff for David’s part of our family, that I am very interested in getting some. Mom and Dad Hjelle started it off for me with a very fun girl. I love it!

Lots of new slippers!

Can you guess who’s foot is who’s? Dad’s, Mom’s, David’s, Jon’s or Mine?

My first time seeing a Cedar Waxwing!

I love it when I learn about a new bird, or see a bird I have never seen before. On my way home this morning I saw a flock of waxwings which was new for me. I was so excited I went back with my camera to see if I could get a picture. God was good and I was able to! I have always loved the colouring on this bird, at least in the pictures I have seen of them, so it was even more exciting to finally see them in real life! Sorry the bird isn’t really clear in this picture, it’s blown up from another picture I took.

More Waxwings!

A Plaque like Grammie’s

While looking in an antique shop with Mom Hjelle, I spotted this plaque that says, “My house is clean enough to be healthy and dirty enough to be happy.” Grammie had this same plaque hanging in her entry way in her home (does she still have it in her apartment?) and I would see it every time I went to get the vacuum cleaner when I was helping her clean her house. David has referenced that plaque many times also, that I thought it was exciting to find. Now it is on my fridge, as close to the entry way as I can get right now :)

Our great find!

Mom Hjelle and I were doing a bit of post Christmas Shopping, looking for good bargians on Christmas cards and wrapping paper, when we thought we would take a detour to the antique shop. After finding and purchasing the plaque (previous photo) Mom found this great cook book. Who would have thought, Scandinavian and Dutch together!?! It was such and exciting find, that we had to get it :)
